Unplug home appliances not currently in use
You may not be aware of it, but many of your appliances and electronics still consume power when they are turned off but still plugged into an outlet. Take 15 minutes to conduct a Vampire or Phantom Power assessment around your home and unplug any appliances that are not in use. This could save you up to 10% on your electricity bill! Common offenders include TVs, video game consoles, DVD players, printers, chargers for phones, tablets, laptops, coffee makers, and record players/radios. If you do not want to unplug items such as your TV or game console, consider using a Smart Power Strip instead!
